How It Works

Advantages:

Convenience:  One plusID device will replace multiple access cards, PINs and passwords.

Cost Effective:  Out of the box compatibility with existing physical and IT security systems. plusID works with all industry standards - no middleware, wiring or coding is required.

Multifunctional:  A single plusID token holds the equivalent of four proximity cards and four contactless smart cards (of varying formats) and still performs logical access. One device provides secure access control to multiple facilities, computers and networks.

Compatible with Industry Standards:  125kHz RF proximity card technology; 13.56MHz RF contactless smart card technology; ISO 7816 Part 3 (smart card) compliant; USB; Bluetooth wireless technology; IEEE 802.15.4 for in-vehicle gate access; one time password (OTP) ready.

Security: Uses tamper resistant secure processor (BCM5890) and is built to withstand digital and physical attack, transmits encrypted credentials, cannot be used by anyone else if lost or stolen.

Safe and Efficient:  plusID protects the user’s privacy while eliminating the risk and expense of collecting and protecting biometric data. The fingerprint templates are securely stored and matched on the device, not in a database.

Flexible:  plusID permits a partial biometric deployment for select employees or areas.

Easy to use:  Enrollment takes just two to three minutes per user.

Reclaimable and reusable: Administrative authority can erase and re-issue a plusID at any time.

Physical Access:

Positive identification of users for secure entry into buildings, facilities, parking garages and mission critical rooms.

• Works on the same reader systems as proximity cards (125kHz RFID) and contactless smart cards (13.56MHz RFID).
• Issued in same manner as prox or smart card
• Supports gate access (up to 100 meters) from within a moving vehicle.
• Stores up to four prox cards and four contactless smart cards per user.
• Enables a mixed population of biometric and non-biometric devices.

Computer/Network Logon:

HID idBank

idBank from HID is a smart card containing card formats (access control IDs) that are securely transferred to plusID devices using the plusID Manager software. If the plusID device will be used in place of access cards or fobs to access doors and facilities, a card format must be loaded onto the plusID device via an HID idBank. Card formats from an idBank can be securely added or changed on the device.

idBanks can be ordered with HID® or Indala® proximity card formats in quantities of 25, 50, 100, 200 or 300.
