Advantages:
Convenience: One plusID device will replace multiple access cards, PINs and passwords.
Cost Effective: Out of the box compatibility with existing physical and IT security systems. plusID works with all industry standards - no middleware, wiring or coding is required.
Multifunctional: A single plusID token holds the equivalent of four proximity cards and four contactless smart cards (of varying formats) and still performs logical access. One device provides secure access control to multiple facilities, computers and networks.
Compatible with Industry Standards: 125kHz RF proximity card technology; 13.56MHz RF contactless smart card technology; ISO 7816 Part 3 (smart card) compliant; USB; Bluetooth wireless technology; IEEE 802.15.4 for in-vehicle gate access; one time password (OTP) ready.
Security: Uses tamper resistant secure processor (BCM5890) and is built to withstand digital and physical attack, transmits encrypted credentials, cannot be used by anyone else if lost or stolen.
Safe and Efficient: plusID protects the user’s privacy while eliminating the risk and expense of collecting and protecting biometric data. The fingerprint templates are securely stored and matched on the device, not in a database.
Flexible: plusID permits a partial biometric deployment for select employees or areas.
Easy to use: Enrollment takes just two to three minutes per user.
Reclaimable and reusable: Administrative authority can erase and re-issue a plusID at any time.
Long Life: Approximately 1,000 uses before recharging.

Physical Access:
Positive identification of users for secure entry into buildings, facilities, parking garages and mission critical rooms.
- Works on the same reader systems as proximity cards (125kHz RFID) and contactless smart cards (13.56MHz RFID).
- Issued in same manner as prox or smart card
- Supports gate access (up to 100 meters) from within a moving vehicle.
- Stores up to four prox cards and four contactless smart cards per user.
- Enables a mixed population of biometric and non-biometric devices.
Computer/Network Logon:
Positive identification of users for secure local or remote access to computers or networks.
- An ISO 7816 Part 3 compliant smart card, but in a form factor that supports on-board biometric authenication of its user
- Offers wireless (13.56MHz and Bluetooth) as well as USB connectivity.
- Supports one-time password delivery - a simple way to add biometrics to existing OTP infrastructure.
- Employs two-way encrypted communication.
- Dramatically reduces password/PIN maintenance costs.
- Compatible with existing third party logical access software applications.
Application, File and Website Access:
Positive identification of users for secure local or remote access to email, VPNs, encrypted files, software applications and websites.
- Compatible with existing third party single sign on (SSO) applications.
- Offers wireless (13.56MHz and Bluetooth) as well as USB connectivity.
- Supports one-time password delivery.
- Employs two-way encrypted communication.
- Dramatically reduces password/pin maintenance costs.

plusID biometric device confirms a user’s identity for secure access to protected resources - be it a tangible physical asset, a protected area or computer based data.
plusID supports multiple application combinations so a user needs only one device for all access authentication needs.

Fingerprint templates are securely stored and matched on the user’s own plusID device- biometric data is never exposed to external servers, readers or databases. The onboard fingerprint sensor eliminates the need for a biometric database.
The plusID tamper resistant design (FIPS 140-2 L3) and secure processor ensure that even if it were electronically or physically probed, no biometric data could be retrieved from a plusID.
plusIDManager is the secure software required for enrollment (a 2-3 minute process per user). It enables fingerprint templates to be added or removed from the device; multiple applications, facilities and/or card formats to be assigned to the device’s programmable buttons; card formats to be added or changed (for physical access applications); and device configurations and timeout settings to be adjusted.
For security purposes, the software prohibits any changes to an enrolled device without the device’s owner authorization.
The software is compatible with Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista.

HID idBank
idBank from HID is a smart card containing card formats (access control IDs) that are securely transferred to plusID devices using the plusID Manager software. If the plusID device will be used in place of access cards or fobs to access doors and facilities, a card format must be loaded onto the plusID device via an HID idBank. Card formats from an idBank can be securely added or changed on the device.
idBanks can be ordered with HID® or Indala® proximity card formats in quantities of 25, 50, 100, 200 or 300.
